All Poodles bred and sold are up-to-date in their medical treatments. PUPPIES whose age at a date of adoption precludes completion of the scheduled series of inoculations and parasite treatments, it is necessary for the purchaser to complete the scheduled series of inoculations and parasite treatments ON TIME, in order to protect the puppy and for this health guarantee to remain valid. A timetable for this series of inoculations and parasite treatments will be supplied on the medical history of the puppy. In addition, until this series of inoculations and parasite treatments has been complete (about 16 weeks of age) the puppy should not be exposed to premises known to be suspected of being contaminated or unhealthy animals. (Rest stops, pet parks, Pet shops where multiple animals with a variety of contagious viruses can be easily transmitted, other dogs from friends, etc.,) Color variations and fading are NOT covered by this agreement. The fading gene is an ever present condition in poodles as a breed so the guarantee of a color is speculative in nature especially with reds, chocolates and blues. NO refunds or replacement puppy(s) will be given if your puppy changes color and fades as he or she ages. Cancer is not covered under this guarantee.
Stacy
Roland certifies that at the time of adoption and to the best of my
knowledge, the puppy will be free of any life threatening congenital birth
defects. Amputation of tails and dew claws are done at 2-5 days after birth at
the buyers request only. This is optional as world-wide and national
preferences are changing and people are trending back to the natural poodle
look. If dewclaws are removed there could be the occasional dew claw amputation
that is not quite perfect and the buyer understands that this procedure is for
the convenience of the groomers and not medically necessary. Our puppies are
sold as pets and not show dogs. If a partial claw remains, it is not covered by
this guarantee. This is a health guarantee. Our puppies are vaccinated against
parvovirus at 4 weeks of age, parvovirus, distemper, hepatitis at 6 weeks of
age with a 5 way vaccine, and kennel cough (Bordatella) before going to their
new home. A regular worming schedule is
adhered to at 2,3,4 weeks with Strongid, Panacur C and Drontal Plus at 6 & 8 weeks while
in our possession. Our puppies have environments treated with Trifectant.and a bleach solution 1/32/ Buyer
has researched and is knowledgeable of the non-life threatening problems that a
dog may have, such as kennel cough (as it can be contracted at any time the
puppy leaves our home as it can be transmitted by air-born means, and agrees
that these are not covered under this health guarantee.) Puppies are taking an
Immune System Supplement named NuVet Plus Canine. You will be provided with
tablets at pick-up and buyer should have ordered them before pick-up and should
have them ready for their puppy when they receive them. This Supplement should
be given to the puppy for at least the first year of life to help ensure a
healthy puppy. Ordering NuVet is easy! WWW.NUVET.COM/65256 I will be notified once the order is
placed and your puppy’s health is protected. This
is not mandatory but as an owner and breeder who gives this to my adults and
babies I HIGHLY SUGGEST THIS.
The buyer is to have this puppy examined by a competent
veterinarian of the buyers' choice within
2 business days to assure
them that they have purchased a healthy puppy, free from major health and life
threatening health problems. This will be done at the purchaser's expense. Under no circumstances
will Stacy Roland be responsible for any veterinarian bills
acquired by the purchaser for this puppy. Minor,
breed related, treatable or correctable conditions (such as Patellar
Luxation, Legg-Calvé-Perthes Disease, PRA-Prcd, Umbilical or Inguinal
Hernias, Delayed Closures, Ectopic Cilia or Kennel Cough, Ear Infections, Yeast
Infections, UTI's, Coccidia, Giardia or Parasitic Infestations, etc.),
or any condition that may go away or is considered to be a condition which a
puppy will likely outgrow, or any cosmetic non-life threatening related issues
(such as a mishap in dew claw removal) are not covered. A note
about delayed closures or small correctable/redact-able umbilical hernias:
These are not the traditional “hernias” we think about, and occur in about 5-8%
of all births. They are not detectable until 4-6 weeks of age once the puppy
starts putting on weight. Once noticed seller will inform the buyer about it
and buyer understands that it is NOT fatal and that can close with time
or can be fixed at time of spay or neuter. If buyer forfeits their puppy at
time of notification no refund of deposit will be issued. My follow-up with previous
puppies and parents has revealed all normal, very healthy adults with absolutely
no complications. ALSO: Some states are now outlawing tail docking and dew claw
removal. If this procedure is banned in your state it is your responsibility to
let me know.
I DO
NOT GIVE REFUNDS OR PAY FOR VETERINARY BILLS. I will give a
replacement puppy for life threatening genetic disease only. If a health
issue of life threatening genetic health arises within the first TWELVE MONTHS
of age which your vet believes could possibly be a life threatening genetic
disease the following steps are to be followed:
(1) A written explanation from a licensed veterinarian and backed up with lab work or x-rays as to the nature of the problem. If the problem is only clinically verifiable by an autopsy then in order to receive a replacement puppy the buyer can obtain one at their expense and fax the results and all medical records, including vaccinations and worming done my a licensed veterinarian, to me for verification.
(2) A
second opinion from a veterinarian whom I have approved in advance
to examine the puppy for signs of abuse or for life threatening congenital
defect. This must be done before a puppy is euthanized if the buyer decides to
terminate the puppy’s life.
(3) Return
the puppy and registration papers (if possessed) to us at buyers’
expense. If you are unwilling to release the puppy and its papers
into my possession, I will assume you intend on keeping the puppy and taking
care of the puppy and the replacement puppy will not be issued.
(4) Proof that the puppy was examined by a
certified veterinarian no later than 2 business DAYS OR 48 hours after
receiving the puppy.
If the veterinarian prognosis is that the puppy has a life threatening genetic
disease and all of the above criteria are met, we will replace a puppy of
equal value when one comes available. No
problems other than life threatening congenital defects are covered in this
agreement. If a defect is caused or exacerbated by neglect and/or
non-completion of regular worming and/or monthly maintenance medications
designed to keep puppies healthy this guarantee is VOID. These treatments must
be documented and administered by a licensed veterinarian and not the buyer or
this agreement is VOID. Additionally, any condition that is exacerbated by a
poor diet or a diet that is contrary to the puppy’s wellbeing is precluded and
will void this agreement and guarantee.
We offer
this guarantee until the puppy reaches one year of age. If at any time you
transfer ownership of the puppy, this agreement is void immediately.
We are
not responsible for the health of this Puppy after it leaves our possession. This is due to the possibility that the dog may become
infected by a communicable disease, such as kennel cough, Parvo, intestinal
parasites and a diet of which we have no control etc., after its delivery to
the new owner. If the puppy is not examined within 48
business hours after buyer takes possession the health guarantee is null and
void and the buyer assumes full responsibility for the puppy’s condition.
BUYER'S
RESPONSIBILITY:
·
Have
the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 48 working hours of
delivery. If a
problem of a serious and life threatening nature does arise, the Breeder is to
be notified immediately following the examination of the puppy. The problem
must also be verified by the Breeder's own veterinarian.
·
Provide
the puppy with routine preventive care, such as, but not limited to the
following:
o Annual physical examinations by a
licensed veterinarian.
o Feed the puppy a high quality puppy food
until it is at least 1 1/2 year old. (18 months)
o Follow veterinarian guidelines for
vaccinations, heartworms, flea prevention and de-worming performed by a
licensed veterinarian only.
·
Puppy
must be paid for in full by eight weeks of age or 1 week prior to shipment, or
all monies and all claims to the puppy will be forfeited.
·
All
deposits are non-refundable.
·
BUYER
agrees to spay or neuter dog at the appropriate age. ALL dogs are sold on a
limited registration if AKC and if CKC, registration will be transferred when a
certificate of spay or neuter by a veterinarian is sent to seller. Buyer
understands that all medical procedures are the responsibility of the buyer.
·
DEPOSIT & PAYMENT:
·
Buyer
understands that a deposit of $250.00
made payable to Stacy Roland is required to place a puppy on hold
or to hold your place in a waiting list for available puppies.
·
Buyer
understands the deposit is non-refundable but is transferable to another litter.
·
Puppy
must be paid in full before it will be released or shipped to the Buyer.
If payment on the puppy has not been made in full by 1 week prior to

his/her deposit, and any claims on the puppy.
·
Deposits can be made by:
o
Personal
checks, money orders and postal money orders are accepted for the deposit for a
puppy, made payable to Stacy Roland. Buyer understands that by paying with a personal check,
the puppy will not be released or shipped until the check has cleared the bank. Balance is due upon pick-up in cash only.
SHIPPING
& TRANSPORTATION:
·
All
airline shipping costs are the responsibility of the Buyer, including the
traveling crate and dishes. Shipping is done through United PetSafe
Program for as additional $450.00 depending on the age and weight of the puppy
when shipped. (after 8-10 weeks it can cost more)
·
Puppy
will be shipped between eight weeks and ten weeks of age. Most are
shipped at eight weeks old. Some need a little more time and will be
shipped at a later time. This is decided at the Breeder's discretion
·
Local
pickups are allowed beginning on the 7th to 8th week of age or at the breeders’
discretion. This is decided by the readiness of the puppy. Location for
pick-up is determined by the breeder.
If the
buyer fails to pick-up puppy at the arranged date and time and does not contact
the seller within 5 days of said date the buyer forfeits claim on the puppy and
the puppy will be re-homed. If you choose to surrender your puppy please
contact me as I have many people looking for puppies or older poodles and I can
certainly find them a good home. Puppies are not like merchandise you can
buy and take home, try on and return, they are a commitment of time and love. There is considerable cost to rehoming
a puppy to ensure it is healthy and ready for a new family. Tests for proper
immunities, updates to worming’s and kennel cough vaccine are all necessary for
a healthy rehoming process, therefore any monetary remuneration is most likely
not a possibility, but, I will try. (I do reserve the right to deny an
applicant or return deposit funds and void agreement if I feel the home is
unsuitable) By signing this document means that all stipulations here within
are agreed to without exception.

Puppies can generally be taken from their
mother and littermates
beginning at 7 to 8 weeks of age. Puppies,
like babies, require a lot of
attention, including veterinary care,
feeding, socialization, and
training.
Importance of Veterinary Care
Just like people, dogs receive a certain degree of immunity (known as maternal immunity) that is passed from
their
mothers at birth and also shortly thereafter through her milk. Vaccinations
cannot effectively stimulate the
puppy's
immune system until this maternal immunity wears off. Because maternal immunity
declines slowly
over
time, puppies should be vaccinated every 2 to 3 weeks until they are about 4
months old. This ensures
that
the puppy receives an effective dose of vaccine soon after maternal protection
is gone. Restricting access
to
unvaccinated dogs until the full series of vaccinations has been given is
important to avoid disease.
Puppies need frequent vaccinations until they are 4 to 5 months old.
Intestinal parasites are most common in puppies. Larvae are often
passed through the placenta or
mother's milk. Worms are so common that new puppies are often
treated with a broad-spectrum
wormer as a routine preventive measure. Fecal examinations, with
additional treatments as necessary,
are usually done every 2 to 4 weeks, until 2 successive fecal examinations are negative.
Diet
Proper
nutrition is important throughout a dog's life and is especially critical
during puppyhood. It is difficult for
growing
puppies to take in enough calories, fat, protein, vitamins, and minerals to
meet their needs for rapid
growth
and development. Puppies need multiple daily feedings of a specially formulated
large breed puppy food. The
number of daily feedings can be gradually decreased as the puppy ages but in Standard Poodles free feeding helps to insure against Bloat.
Feeding with a name-brand puppy diet should continue until adulthood, which is about 12 to 18 months in most dogs but up to 2 years in giant breeds.
Socialization
and Training
The
earliest training that your puppy must learn is housetraining. With patience,
persistence, and consistency,
housetraining
usually takes only a few weeks. The key is to take the puppy outdoors at the
times that dogs
naturally
eliminate and to praise them enthusiastically when they do. Establishing a
designated area that the
puppy
can associate with elimination can be helpful. If accidents happen, take your
pet outside to the
designated
elimination area and praise it for eliminating (if it does so). Punishment,
such as rubbing a dog's
nose
in urine or feces, does no good and can even have a negative effect on
training. Each accident indoors
sets the process back a little, so the fewer accidents, the better.
I agree to take my new puppy to the
veterinarian by at least (2) days or 48 business hours from the time
I pick up the puppy for an exam, and for ALL
regular wormings, vaccinations and health screenings as
recommended by the American Veterinary
Medical Association.
Failure to complete the first visit (2)
days or 48 hours, and the subsequent screenings and vaccinations
will result in voiding my guarantee of
health and a replacement puppy as outlined in the paperwork I
have previously received. Completing these
vaccinations and health screenings at home will also void
the guarantee as a 3rd party must be involved to
ensure the validity of treatment and help to ensure a
healthy and happy puppy.
I further Hold Harmless, Stacy Roland, of
any and all responsibility for my failings if I decide to not seek
the professional services of a licensed
veterinary professional and to follow the proper protocol as
outlined by AVMA for vaccinations, health
screenings and regular parasite prevention.

All
dogs should learn to pay attention and respond to everyone in the household.
Teaching young dogs basic
obedience
commands, including sit, stay, down, come, and heel, increases the control that
you have over your
dog,
which can prevent potentially dangerous situations (such as running away or
running into the street). Dogs
have
an early socialization period, lasting from roughly 2 to 4 months of age.
During this time, they more easily
learn
to accept new people, places, animals, and other experiences. Giving your puppy
positive experience
with
new events during this period can help reduce the chances of fearful behavior
and other problems later in
life.
Many good books are available on raising and training puppies. Included in your puppy package is
an e-book on How to Raise the Perfect Puppy. In addition, many
local trainers, kennels, and
community
services offer socialization and obedience classes. Socialization classes can
begin as early as 8
weeks
of age, with obedience classes generally starting at 4 to 6 months of age. In
general, obedience training
is an
activity that you and your dog learn together. The trainer teaches you, and you
teach your dog. It takes
only a
few hours per week, is generally fun for both you and your pet, and can
establish good behavior and a
strong
family bond for the life of your dog.
